HOWZAT (Badminton) Rules at glance

• 60 Teams participating in this Tournament will be divided into 6 teams each

• This Tournament will be run on League & knockout basis

• Two Leading Teams from each league will be selected for knock out matches.

• Two Leading Teams from each group will move into the 1st Knock Out stage.

• POINTS System:  Match consist of the best of 3gaes of 21 points.

• Every time there is a serve – there is a point Scored.

• The side winning a rally adds a point to its score.

• At 20 all, the side which gains a 2 point lead first, wins that game.

• At 29 all, the side scoring the 30th point, wins that game.

• In case a playing member of the team becomes "unfit to play" during the progress of the game, the fielding side can use substitute fielders to replace the "injured" player with the consent of Referee & opposition.

• The match will be declared TIE, if both the team scores same number of Points, 

• If a League match is interrupted or abandoned due to rain, it will be treated as DRAW and both the playing teams will be awarded ONE point each and no re-match will be played.

• In case of a knock out round match being washed out, 1 replay day will be allotted. All the Matches in this Tournament shall be played under the latest WFL Laws.

• At any given time only the Co-ordinator of the Team should speak to Referee or the Organizers.

• Players should wear a sports shoes.

• The playing teams must be present THIRTY minutes before the start of the play and are also requested to take care of their own belongings, as the organizers will not be responsible for loss of their property or valuables.

• Organizers will not be responsible for any injuries or mishaps at the venue. The participants are requested to carry their own safety equipments.

• All the teams will bring in their own kits and the Organizers will provide teams with approved Shuttlecock which must be used during official games.

• One representative from each playing side will accompany the official scorer and inform him about the player’s detail, no corrections or amendments would be allowed later.

• All players must carry their Photo ID Cards or a letter from the company authorizing the player to be an employee of the company. In absence of this, the player would not be allowed to play the match.

• If a Player from one company participates for a particular team, he has to represent the same team throughout the tournament. 

• The decision of the Committee shall be final in all matters. On field, the Referee’s decision would be final.

• Most importantly…..Have a great time and enjoy the spirit of the game of Badminton...

• Tickets once booked cannot be exchanged or refunded.

 For direct employees only

 All initial matches played on league basis and at least 3 matches per team to be played

 All matches consist of the best of 3 games of 21 points.
