You will be happy to know that Kri Foundation commences its fifteenth year of serving the arts and the community, with the two- day Dance Festival, Madhavi.
The annual dance festival Madhavi, scheduled on 2nd and 3rd April, 2018, at the India Habitat Centre (7 pm) is about humanism and integration, two critical values that our world needs today more than ever before, at both a literal and metaphoric level.
This year Madhavi showcases the works of two internationally renowned Bharatanatyam dancers - Vaibhav Arekar and Rama Vaidyanathan, both of whom perform choreographies with their ensembles.
The dance performance on 2nd April is based on a poetic voice of compassion that emanated in the thirteenth century spiritual poet and social reformer- Namdev. It will be presented by the Mumbai based dance group lead by Vaibhav Arekar, a very significant, visionary practitioner, educator and choreographer of this generation.
Delhi based dazzling dancer, Rama Vaidyanathan, leads the dance and music group on the second day- 3rd April, with a performance that explores abstractly, through the traditional dance form of Bharatanatyam, the interlinks between the arts in dance drawing upon her training under iconic Gurus- Yamini Krishnamurti and Saroja Vaidyanthan.
The event is to commemorate and celebrate the birthday of Madhavi Gopalakrishnan, mother of Rama Vaidyanathan, whose helpful nature, selfless support and deep knowledge of Indian philosophy, inspired and helped many artistes, not just Rama, to enrich their artistry.
Dr. Arshiya Sethi Founder and Managing Truste of Kri Foundation, will talk about the foundations past works and future plans.
