Gang of Girls tell you several stories about one single matter - 'being a girl'. How she takes birth, how she grows up, and how she, unfortunately, gets raped; the mystery and complexities of a girl turning into a woman; and the fear, fantasies and desires of being a woman.
The play is a celebration of women's sexuality and the condemnation of its violation. 'Gang Of Girls' is an artistic response by a group of performers to the gang rape incidents like Nirbhaya rape case, domestic violence, suppression of women or any other form of violence against women. However, the play is not a tragic one, rather it is a humorous journey explored through an amalgamation of various dance forms such as Bharatnatyam, Contemporary, Hula-Hoop and Hip-Hop.
The hilarious yet heart touching essays from 'The Vagina Monologues', the hard-hitting poetry of Taslima Nasrin, and the ugly realities of this male-dominated society give flesh to the performance.
